Movie #26 Killer’s Kiss

(1955, US, d. Stanley Kubrick)

Financed privately through friends and family, Stanley Kubrick’s second (very short) feature is underwhelming at best and uninspired at worst. Sure, the film played a bit with shadows and the idea of witnessing a mob crime and having to fight yourself out, but so did a lot of noir pictures of the time. Overall, it was very disappointing, but at least he got better.
