Movie #28 Bonnie & Clyde

Highly influenced by the French New Wave directors Jean-Luc Godard and Francois Truffaut, this summer runaway hit is an incredible portrait of an outlaw couple. It is the first American film to play with the idea of “mythicizing” characters on screen – especially ones who fought against the law. It’s a fun picture – both Faye Dunaway (who is drop-dead gorgeous in this) and Warren Beatty deliver a ton of laughs – and a lot of cool action ensues.
